Event Description

Every few months, Sandoval and his culinary team at Richard Sandoval Hospitality research and develop new recipes featuring the cuisine of Chef Richard Sandoval’s native Mexico. The result is a menu of specialty appetizers, entrees, and cocktails that showcase the flavors and techniques from different regions of Mexico. The featured new dishes are designated on a special menu, noting that they are exclusive and available for a limited time. The interesting “Chile Relleno” menu to be unveiled at Tamayo in October and runs through December 31st, 2018.

CHILE RELLENO, or “stuffed chile,” originated in Puebla, Mexico, in the 16th century. Traditionally, the dish calls for a poblano pepper that is stuffed, battered in egg or masa flour, and fried. Today, the fillings, sauces, and even the peppers used in this dish can vary by region and personal taste.

Chef Richard Sandoval introduces guests to Tamayo’s Second Annual Chile Relleno Festival, where he puts a fresh, modern spin on this traditional dish with vibrant flavors, interesting ingredients, and bold sauces.
