The history of Euclid Hall: The then four-story building built originally as a residence for Dr. Bryon Albertus Wheeler was constructed in 1883. Subsequently named Euclid Hall, it became a meeting place for groups including the Elks, Masons and the Populist Party. The Denver Chapter of the Minutemen moved in during 1929 but by 1940, the building was known as The Cootie Club, a social club for the “Supreme Puptent Military Order of the Cooties,” a spinoff of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The space became Maudie’s Flea Market in 1971, followed by Soapy Smith’s Eagle Bar from 1977 through 1999. Martini Ranch was the last occupant.
