Larimer Square Presents Al Fresco Dining Event, July 21
Larimer Square announced today the launch of Denver’s inaugural al fresco dining event, An Affair on the Square, benefiting the Colorado Symphony. The fine dining event is set for Wednesday, July 21 from 6-9 p.m. Larimer Square restaurants will join fare forces for an elegant event of culinary offerings, summer cocktails and live performances from members of the Colorado Symphony.
Tickets to the event are now for sale at AnAffairontheSquare.com.
“There’s no better place in Denver to enjoy a summer dinner than on the patio of a Larimer Square restaurant,” said Jeff Hermanson, chief executive officer for Larimer Associates, the Denver-based real estate investment and management firm that operates Larimer Square. “So, we thought, let’s create an event that focuses on that demand, giving hundreds of people the opportunity to dine al fresco on the Square at the same time.”

Larimer Square chefs and restaurant general managers unveil the logo for An Affair on the Square on Wednesday, June 23.
That evening, Larimer St. will be closed from 14th to 15th, and eight Larimer Square restaurants will extend their patios on to the street. More than 100 tables of four will be perfectly placed on the street, creating a unique fine dining experience. A stage in the middle of the Square will be programmed throughout the evening by members of the Colorado Symphony, the event’s beneficiary.
“We are so thrilled that Larimer Square chose us for this incredible event,” said Margaret Williams, vice president of marketing and communication for Colorado Symphony. “As we are going through a phase of rebranding and repositioning, this is simply perfect timing to help reintroduce us to a captive audience.”
Participating Larimer Square restaurants include Bistro Vendome, The Capital Grille, Corridor 44, Cru ~ A Wine Bar, Lime, Osteria Marco, Rioja and TAG. Each venue has created a special pre-fixe menu for the evening; all featuring their own specialty items at different price points, ranging from $58 to $97 per person. “An Affair on the Square is a celebration of the culinary community on Larimer Square,” Hermanson said. “It’s about bringing together our collection of restaurants and talented chefs for one night to create an event truly unique to downtown Denver.”
Event tickets are $35 per person and include entrance on the street, two complimentary cocktails and live music entertainment. Event tickets and dinners must be purchased together as a package of four. The total cost includes tax and gratuity. Tickets are non-refundable; please consider your purchase a donation. In the case of poor weather, a rain date has been set for Wednesday, July 28.
An Affair on the Square is sponsored by Schomp Automotive, Hangar 2 Vodka and Foster’s Group.
