More than 200 professional, amateur and student artists will descend on Larimer Square to transform the area into a bright and colorful street museum during the 5th annual La Piazza dell’Arte (“the square of art”).  Over the course of two days, Larimer Square will come to life for this fantastic celebration of a classic Italian art form when artists take to the street armed with vivid pastel chalks and spend hours on their hands and knees recreating major masterpieces.  By the end of the event, intricate chalk paintings will cover three downtown blocks of pavement along Larimer Square with subjects ranging from master-style works to modern images and surreal chalk creations.   Visitors will be captivated as they watch the pieces come to life while having the rare opportunity to interact with the artists as they work.  Italian music, food, a wine and art pavilion, and beverages will compliment the visual feast.  For more information, visit www.larimerarts.org.
